Flash…Announcement…for next week! Paul Harris Day – Get out your PH medal and wear it to the meeting.

We will be celebrating our own John Struchen who is a major donor. Along with John, ten other Rotarians will receive pins. Our District Governor will be present to celebrate with us. District 5320 is one club away from being a 100% PH district. There are only two others in the world.

• We are very sad to hear that Marsh Arnold is critically ill with Bone Cancer. Tom McCrellis announced he chose to start chemotherapy. Marsh welcomes visits, cards and prayers.Marsh, we are all pulling for you!

Assembly: Lee talked about membership. Showed us several forms used to introduce possible new members to Rotary. Our newest Special Guest is Joe Anderson. His orientation will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the Hotel Calypso. Contact lee if you would like to participate.Club Service: Our next “social event” is a very special event on June 29th. We are planning to celebrate President Paul’s reign and roast him to well-done! More to follow on this event.

Community Service: Wendy talked about the corn booth coming up at the Fiesta. The Chamber of Commerce will only have us selling corn – so no competition there. The Swing Night in June4th. Everyone will be contacted by Pat Sabin for their two tickets to purchase. The next charity visit is at Great Opportunities

• For Thanks Giving, the Home Hospitality, Adopt a Marine is on a first come, first serve basis. You can sign up now and theysend out letters in September. They usually have approximately1300 Marines participate and they send out at least 2 marines.The number to call is: 760-385-4921.

• John Ezell talked about Swing Night which is quickly approaching us. The Swing Night in June 4th. Everyone will be contacted by Pat Sabin for their two tickets to purchase.Rotary Club of San Clemente Rolling Wheel 4272011Volunteer time starts at Noon to decorate through the event. As before, dinner is at 6 p.m. and dancing 7-10 p.m

.• Tyler reviewed for us our fantastic website. If you have not checked it out – it has a wealth of information for us and the public. He showed us how to get onto Facebook, to share our events with people, and better yet how to invite them to our events through Facebook. Also on the page is upcoming events, and the “Members Only” page.

• Lee said the Endless Night will be sponsored by Hurley. Their logo will be on our information.The entire weekend is a surf event with our event and the Hurley surf contest the following day This was a great and informative meeting with no controversy…way to go!
